RESPONSIBILITY- HOW TO CONTROL YOUR ACTIONS AND YOUR REACTIONS!

HOW TO APPROACH SITUATIONS CAREFULLY

The first thing you need to do is to realize when you are in the wrong. As well as knowing when to apologize for a mistake or situation you have caused. Next is to have the ability to learn from a downfall or a mistake. As to not let that mistake happen a second time. Acknowledging when you are at fault is difficult for everyone. Although it is a key factor in taking responsibility for one’s actions.

As a result, responsibility can aid you in becoming self-aware and helping you develop personally and grow as a person. Being able to take responsibility for your actions will better prepare you for the consequences that may come thereafter.

These consequences can hurt those closest to you as well as damage the trust that has been formed so far. So when taking responsibility, the onus is on you to mend what has been broken and earn that trust again. The ability to take responsibility lends itself highly to the ability to see with perspective or empathy.  Allowing you to mend that which is broken.

WHAT WILL COME FROM TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS

Through taking responsibility for one’s self, you open the door for self-awareness and therefore self-growth. Knowing when to pause is important. Knowing when to think about a situation before blindly acting through impulse is of the utmost importance in maintaining relationships.

As a result of any action you perform, there will be an equal and opposite reaction or consequence either good or bad. Through impulse action, without proper thought, or preparation comes anger, pain, and heartbreak.

Responsibility really comes in when times are tough. When you have to take accountability for something that has happened, which has lead to adverse effects on those around you.

THE HARDEST PART OF OWNING UP TO YOUR ACTIONS

It’s easier taking responsibility for the good you do. More so, it takes maturity and strength to own up and take responsibility for your wrongdoings and mistakes. Being able to take responsibility for your actions and the consequences thereafter could be the make or break moment that occurs in your life. Either fixing or destroying relationships that you have nurtured.

All of the above, as well as the ability to say sorry for your actions, are the foundations of being the best version of yourself in regards to personal relationships as well as in society as a whole.

FEAR AND ANXIETY-HOW TO HANDLE IT.

AN IMAGE OF THE FRENCH ALPS AT NIGHT, PORTRAYING THE UNKNOWN AND THE BEAUTY IT CAN HOLD.
THE UNKNOWN

THINGS YOU NEED TO DO TO HANDLE FEAR AND ANXIETY.

  • FEAR AND ANXIETY should not be feared or felt anxious about.
  • Do not let your fear and anxiety of tomorrow negatively affect you in the present day and the now.
  • Do not wait or leave problems or tasks to pile up before tending to them as this only adds to the fear and anxiety you are feeling.
  • Approach things timelessly and tackle them as they come your way, one aspect at a time.
  • You cannot tackle the whole situation at once, you will more than likely buckle under the overall weight of the problem.
  • Learn to tackle any obstacle or problem in your life, by breaking the problem down into chunks that you can realistically handle.
  • STOP PROCRASTINATING!
  • STOP LETTING FEAR AND ANXIETY CONTROL YOU.
  • START TODAY AND AS A RESULT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT!

Always be in the drivers seat of your own life.

FEAR AND ANXIETY & THE IMPACT THEY CAN HAVE.

  • Firstly, being anxious when it comes to the future is not always a bad thing. To be anxious or to be nervous is to be HUMAN. Secondly, your nerves are there to prepare you for what’s to come, but they should not deter you from trying. Thirdly, your nerves are what should invigorate and push you to try new things. Lastly, nerves are natural, and it just depends on how you are able to deal with those nerves. Being able to deal with your nerves and fear, will allow you to operate on a higher level as you use fear and anxiety to your advantage.

FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN.

  • Fear is also natural, but you should not let fear control how you operate within your life or control how you live overall. Your Fear cannot be allowed to rule your life, because it will destroy you entirely. Fear may lend itself to how you prepare or deal with situations, but that is where the duties of the fear end. You must remove the “I’m not this” or “I’m not good enough” mentality in its entirety and make room for “I AM THIS” and “I AM ENOUGH”. Fear can be used positively to create and manifest the future you want to head towards in your mind, through proper preparation and practice.
  • DON’T TAKE EVERYTHING ON AT ONCE.

THE FIRST STEPS ARE THE HARDEST

  • You have to accept things firstly and approach any obstacle head-on, but only one situation at a time. “You can only eat an elephant one piece at a time.” You must break down the obstacle into parts that you can realistically overcome if handled one at a time.
  • BE COMMITTED TO PERSONAL GROWTH.
  • Let that commitment to personal growth drive you to grow within yourself and grow as a person every day. Set short term goals that will help you evolve and grow as a person. Keep to these goals, and reward yourself when you achieve any of these goals.
  • Practise self-love as well as self-care, as somedays, the only person behind you will be yourself. So always back yourself and root for your own self success.

PERSPECTIVE USED IN EVERYDAY LIFE.

AN IMAGE SHOWING THE PHRASE "THATS WHACK" BEING USED TO EVOKE EMOTION WITHIN PEOPLE AND THEIR WRONG DOINGS OR THEIR HANDLING OF SITUATIONS

PERSPECTIVE IS SEEING THROUGH THE EYES OF ANOTHER.

  • Having perspective is to have the ability to approach situations with compassion and empathy.
  • To have perspective is to know that you don’t fully appreciate what you have. This appreciation is only known when these things are taken away or lost, abruptly and without prior warning. So cherish every moment for what it is, rather than what it could be or what you expected of that moment. Try to firstly live through these moments as well as enjoy them with the people who you hold dearest to you. Live each day as if it were your last. Simply put, you should try to enjoy the passing seconds that would more often than not be forgotten.
  • Try to always handle view situations or conflict with the proper perspective. This will allow you to handle things appropriately and without negative consequences.

STEPS YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE

HOW TO HAVE THE PROPER PERSPECTIVE & USE IT IN EVERYDAY LIFE.

  • Appreciate the little things, the smallest of victories, as well as every laughable moment or passing smile. These small and somewhat insignificant things have the ability to turn into bigger things. Things that can have a meaningful impact on your life. It all matters in the grand scheme of things.
  • Don’t take anything for granted: small moments, unimportant situations, and everyday people. As you never their importance, or the role they may be playing in your life. Nobody can say for sure that they know when things will be taken from them or lost entirely. Time is fickle and selfish and it takes without warning. So appreciate things and people within the moment, while you have them.
  • Always be able to see things from both sides, to have perspective in all situations throughout the day and throughout your life. Perspective allows us to have empathy, which can then allow you as a person to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. You will be able to see the situation at hand from their perspective or from their personal point of view.
  • Perspective comes with age as well as maturity and can come from life experience.

TO HAVE PERSPECTIVE IS TO HAVE EMPATHY.

  • Always watch your tongue and when necessary, pause before you speak and think about what you are going to say. It’s important to have empathy for yourself, but to have empathy for others in today’s society will undoubtedly separate you from the rest, growing above all your competitors and peers.
  • “Hold your tongue before words are said that will bring regret.”
  • Be upfront in all situations, and approach everything with honesty even if it brings about pain and discomfort

AN ODE TO THE PERSON I ONCE WAS.

TO THE PERSON I WAS, REST IN PEACE TO OLD FRIEND

AN IMAGE SHOWING A SKELETON SMOKING A CIGARETTE, IMPLYING THAT EVEN AFTER DEATH WE WILL INDULGE IN THAT WHICH KILLS US. MUCH LIKE THE PERSON I WAS
THE BAD DAYS

The person i was, no longer am

That sliver of light, that used to be, can no longer be see

And for the night I let my thoughts consume me totally.

The person i was, not who i wanted to be

I struggle and fight, but to no avail, the numbness sets in

And I no longer feel at all-

Losing this battle between waging within me.

There are good days,

and numb days

There are bad days,

and there are days that don’t seem to end.

FADE TO BLACK/

The meds keep me grounded,

They keep me alive.

Two hours in to this terrible night.

The person i was…

I’ve lost count.

No not again,

I cannot go back.

Those ice cold hospital walls.

I knew I shouldn’t do it

But again and again and again,

I swallow all these colours

and drift off

Until i know not what I do.

DEEPER AND DEEPER

This hatred for the world has driven me mad.

The hatred for myself has made me sad.

Im not perfect..

Not average..

…Not even close..

My family in tatters.

These friends are nowhere to be seen.

Life in ruins.

there’s only one exit on this highway of life.

No goodbye,

No hello,

Not even a smile.

The only thing to do would be to end this life.

DEPARTURE

This illusion of happy.

This mask that I’ve worn.

Besides friends and my family,

This world won’t be missed.

It’s always been said that you’re only missed when you’re gone.

Deep down I’m not sure if I can carry on this fight.

An uphill battle.

Day in and day out.

I wake from this dream,

Abrupt and at once.

These thoughts in my head,

In my head they will stay,

Until the day that I rot

In the only kingdom I’ll see

2 foot wide and 6 feet deep.

SAYING GOODBYE TO THE UGLIEST PARTS THAT MAKE ME WHO I AM

I AM – DEDICATED TO THE UGLIEST PARTS OF ME

I AM RESTING WELL OLD FRIEND

Who I AM. I walk through that door. The smell of cigarette smoke lingers in the air. I thought it would be different, I didn’t expect things to go this way already. The room was filled with eery darkness, a darkness that took hold. But I can still feel the bass through the very souls of my feet. I take one deep breath and all of my memories come rushing back. The past few months I have been working on putting myself back together. I too buckled under the intense weight of this world.

Most thought of me as a broken soul. I knew that I was not irreparable, this off time was used to stick my own pieces together. My friends all walk with confidence and a cigarette tucked behind their ears, not a care in the world. I had to change for good, I could no longer resemble that which I resented.

I am on the brink of being an 18-year-old living in a world where social formalities must be followed. Attending school with a forced smile. Worked hard, I play sport and I even rounded up good grades, all for those around me but on the inside, on the inside, it is a different story. DROWNING. I am drowning in my own thoughts and sadness. Drowning in my own hope that one day I will be good enough.

It’s easy to see that everyone looks for a way to fit into society’s perfect system and many are able to accept themselves for who they are. However, I am never going to be one of those people. I let my own thoughts and insecurities destroy me.

IT NEVER SEEMS TO GET BETTER

Santosh Kalwar once said “We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking.” Personally, I believe our thoughts play a large role in determining who we are. The way we perceive ourselves and handle our feelings impacts the way we respond to the people around us.

I never truly understood why I felt so, so alone. Originally I thought it was because of financial circumstance or the fact that I wasn’t in with the “cool” kids around the school, However, maybe it is my own thoughts that force me to feel this way.

There have been countless nights where I laid wide awake staring at the ceiling, allowing my thoughts to go round and round in my head. I would like to believe that I have positive thoughts that go through my mind as well. However, I think the negative overpower the positive. My mind focuses on my flaws because that’s all I’ve ever known how to do.

I walked into the room and a shiver went down my spine. The last time I stood in this exact spot was 3 months ago and my intentions were not pure, not even close. These words spin in my head; a man can not overcome his thoughts if he does not know how to accept or control them.

Another puff of smoke, another empty bottle, and these thoughts begin to dissolve – an escape you would say, but no, a downward spiral leading me to my own damned demise…
